FAYETTEVILLE -- There were shootings in less than a week in Fayetteville all on the same side of town. All three happened near the Murchison Road area.

In the latest shooting Wednesday, three victims were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with minor injuries after a gunmen fired at them from a car.

Although police have not released the names of the victims or suspects in this latest shooting, police believe the victims may know their attackers.

Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Fayetteville police responded to shots fired in the Jasper Street and Murchison Road area. Witnesses told police the incident was a drive by shooting.

On Monday night, police say 21-year-old Jamaal Demetruis Johnson of Fayetteville exchanged gunfire with Officer David West after Johnson jumped from a reported stolen vehicle on Coley Drive near Fayetteville State University. Johnson was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. There's no word on his condition.

On Sunday morning also near Fayetteville State University, a victim was shot in the buttocks at the University Place apartments off of Coble Drive.
