CHARLOTTE—Anyone that is planning on flying this summer should plan on paying more money.
The Transportation Security Administration is raising passenger security fees at U.S. airports beginning July 21.
Air travelers are currently paying $2.50 per plane ride, with the fee capped at two plane rides each way.
However, starting on the 21st the TSA will charge a flat fee of $5.60 no matter how many planes you board.
Congress approved the higher fees as part of its bi-partisan budget deal last December
