RALEIGH—Family and friends continue to mourn the loss of a man and a child killed in a head-on collision Friday night.

Raleigh police say 22-year-old Tyequaze O'Neal was speeding on Millbrook Road when he lost control and spun out into the opposite lane, hitting another car.

His nephew, 7-year-old Kyrail McLean was in the car with him and died at the scene. O'Neal later died at the hospital.

The driver of the other car and two others are recovering in a nearby hospital. Teddy bears, balloons and candles now stand as a memorial in the spot where the crash happened.

Family and friends are also hoping those in the hospital are doing OK.

“Time will make it better, time will make it better but right now you can't say that to them, I hope god gives them a speedy recovery,” said family friend Frances Lippette.

The conditions of the others injured in the accident continues to improve. ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
