WINSTON-SALEM -- A Winston-Salem barbecue restaurant may be featured in a popular reality show, competing against the best of the best from all over the country.
Bib's BBQ is in the running to be featured on the popular reality show BBQ Pitmasters.
"To be able to show the rest of the country what we do and how we do it, it's just a good opportunity for us to be able to show what we do," said owner Mark Little.
And what they know how to do is barbecue.
"The favorites by far are probably the brisket and the pulled pork," customer James Shilkoff said. "Great flavor, always tender, just great food."
"We do a low and slow process," Little said. "We do a 24-hour cook on our pulled pork and it's just something that just melts in your mouth. We are very old school, but we also have a unique twist on our preparation and our sauces and our rubs. We use North Carolina hickory hardwood and it's very unique to this area too."
If chosen to compete on the show, Bib's BBQ will get a mystery meat and have to prepare it within a time limit to serve to a panel of judges. The food is judged on taste, texture and presentation. The team with the highest score in the end will be named BBQ Pitmaster.
"We're not eastern or western, we're 'bestern,' we like to say," Little said. "We've got something the rest of the country don't have."
Bib's BBQ will find out April 2 if they'll be on the show.
