STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Statesville Police are looking for a man they say is responsible for two deaths and is armed and dangerous.
They say the robbery happened at a Shell service station around 5 a.m. Sunday morning on East Broad St. Authorities say the clerk, 28-year-old Jennifer Vincek and a customer, 52-year-old Jeffrey Peck were shot even after complying with the robber.
"Very cold blooded,” said Lt. Dan Miglin of the killings. “These people were complying and there was no indication that these people were doing anything that would have amounted to some sort of counter attack.”
Police say Vincek was shot twice and died at the scene. Investigators say it is unclear how many times Peck was shot, but he died a short time later at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Police describe the robber as a man in his mid-20s, wearing a greenish-gray, fur-lined parka with light colored jeans and white sneakers.
The suspect was last seen in a green Town and Country minivan with North Carolina tags, headed west on East Broad St. Police say a sticker with the letters SHA is on the back of the driver-side window.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
