MATTHEWS, N.C.-- A number of firearm retailers like Brandon Ginther are reporting an increase in sales.

Ginther says since Friday, when news broke about the deadly Colorado shooting, gun and ammo sales nearly doubled.

A dozen people were killed and nearly 60 others were injured at a movie theater in Aurora.

Some retailers say sales are so high, they're experiencing an ammunition shortage. They say customers are worried about their safety and their right to bare arms.

"Stuff like this makes people start wondering about gun laws, especially with a election,” said Ginther. “You don't know what is coming up, you just never know.”

Several legislators and organizations are calling for stricter gun laws since the shooting.

Brady Campaign President Dan Gross said, “Our nation pays an unacceptable price for our failure to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people.” ClientIP: UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
